tcma annual conference
TCMA meets regularly each year at its annual conference in early summer. The conference provides educational and networking opportunities. Members discuss current trends in city management and related fields.
The William "King" Cole series provides an opportunity for training in the fundamentals of city management. Session 1 topics include the history of the city management profession, basic duties of a city manager, ethics, and budgeting and finance. Session 2 topics include leadership, communication, human resources, and economic development.
This series is offered annually: Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (March or April). Attendance at Session 1 is not a prerequisite for attending Session 2.
City management clinic
The City Management Clinic is designed to educate and support individuals in city management positions on current and relevant issues. Previous topics have included leadership, organizational culture, and legislative updates.
