Dan Johnson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and thanked the members for participating in the meeting.
The committee finalized details for the TCMA Annual Conference:
- Collette, Stephanie, Rebecca, and Denise confirmed that the City of San Marcos will provide the following for the Friday night event:
- Transportation
- Children’s entertainment
- Assistance with setup and cleanup
- The band and tent
- Collette stated that WiFi will be available in the sleeping rooms and meeting rooms for conference attendees and will arrange for a color guard for the Opening General Session.
- Denise and Rebecca will provide a table with information about area activities for guests and will work in conjunction with Kristen Menchaca to assist with networking for spouses and guests.
The committee agreed the conference theme will be “Riding the Currents of Change,” selected keynote speakers, and finalized educational session titles.
Brant will work with the assistants’ organizations on the pre-conference session.
Kim will contact Texas State University to book a mariachi band for the Welcome Reception.
Committee members who are assigned to coordinate an educational session will confirm speakers and provide a two-sentence description to Kim no later than December 1.
Committee members signed up to contact potential conference sponsors. Kim will send committee members a copy of a sample sponsorship letter, sponsorship deadlines, and an updated sponsor list.
With nothing else on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
